INTRODUCTION TO THESIS WRITING

1. Academic writing can be classified into:

• Thesis
• Dissertation
• Research article
• Research proposal
• Research grant

2. The important skill for academic writing is to fulfill the language requirements

• Structured
• Formal
• Informative
• Persuasive

3. Language skill covers 

• Writing effectively
• Writing logically
• Summarizing the article or the source
• Pharaphrasing
• Citing/quoting

Summarizing the article is a critical part for me personally because most of the time the article is reading my face..heh..(terkena batang hidung sendiri~)

*you should read the article, not the article is reading you* Prof Hajibah

4. We should know our  type of research very well.Is it ...

• Quantitative approach
• Qualitative approach or 
• Both!

5. Writing procedures (Early stages of research work)

• Preliminaries
• Collecting data
• Taking notes

no shelter, food, power supply and water..
